born in Vienna, Austria.

While studying Marketing and Advertising at the University of Economics in his home city of Vienna, Flieder began as an assistant photographer to several renowned Austrian photographers.

He then attended the Academy of Film in Vienna to study directing. During this time he directed his first short films in addition to two rewarded promo spots for MTV Europe and VIVA before acting as assistant director on numerous theater plays in Vienna.

Utilizing his theater and film skills, Flieder began as an assistant director for international commercials and music videos in Austria and Germany before he joined German based music video production house Weisz & Friends.

Together with Martin Weisz and Barbara Benson, Flieder directed and produced numerous music videos for clients such as Virgin, EMI, Motor Music, BMG,Universal and Sony Entertainment.

Flieder went on to direct notable commercials including the Premiere spot "Rocky vs.Tiger", Opel "Ride on the Moon", Mercedes M-Class "Jurassic Park, Audi "A2", Mannheimer Insurance and visual designs for the TV stations ARD, Premiere, Viva and Arte.

He also directed several music videos including Liquido (Virgin Records), Future Breeze (Motor Music), Grid Locked (EastWest Records), Ipanema (EastWest Records); Be (EMI Electrola), Cobra (Motor Music),DaVibe (EMI Electrola) and Wu-Tang Clan (BMI).

As noted European talent, Flieder made his foray into US commercials with a Gatorade campaign, shooting the commercials, "Leave it on the Floor", "We/family" and "When No-ones Watching" who got nomimated by shoot magazine for best US commercial.

Fritz Flieder received numerous awards such as the New York Filmfestival Award, the German Art Directors Club Award , was the recipient of the European Designer Award, was awarded with the Animago Award and received the German young talent screenwriting Award.

For his worldwide representation he cooperates with international renowned agent Esther Kurle from DBC talent management.

Besides his ongoing career as a successful commercial director Fritz also works now on numerous screenplays for his soon upcoming debut as a movie director.
